And If the Bright Lights don't recieve you, wont you turn yourself around and come on home.....
Wow......all I can really say right now is....F'N WOW!!!
I just saw Sin City this afternoon....I want to see it again! It was FANTASTIC! The imagery, symbolism, and use of color were all stunning. I havent read the comic so I can't compare, but the movie definately felt and played out like a Comic book story. It reminded me alot of other Graphic Novels I've read, such as, The Crow and The Watchmen. Really Dark, Really Aesthetic, and very deliberate and awesome uses of color, shadow, and light. I have to say that it was one of the most beautifully disturbing and deliberately excessive films I have ever seen. The directing was top notch, the acting was friggin great. Wonderful cast. Mickey Rourke, Elijah Wood, and Clive Owen really stood out to me. I thought they had the best stuff in the movie. Great overall cast though. I'm gonna end up buying the Comic book sometime this week just out of pure fascination now. Its odd, 'cause I rarely give this big of an opinion on a movie, and rarely do I steadfastly stand behind any movie I've seen aside from "The Holy Trilogy", but man, this one is on the list. I'm recommending that anyone who has just a pure love of film and how it can be put on screen at maximum potential go see this movie! It is just that damn good!
I mean, wow, I just can't say enough about it, but I'm rambling now, so I should stop....
Anyway, go see Sin City, you'll be doing yourself a favor....
Aside from that, things are goin pretty well. Getting things finished up this semester, and am ready for my internship in Abbeville....Have all my classes lined up for the fall as well so that I can graduate. Wow, it feels so weird to be this close to it finally....
Ok, here's a list cause I haven't done this in a while:
Movie: Sin City (What else?)
Song: Run Away Train, Soul Asylum
Album: Stunt, Bare Naked Ladies
TV Show: Iron Chef
Book: Invisible Cities, Italo Calvino
Man of the Week: Mitch Hedberg (R.I.P.)
